As a seasoned technical expert in impact investing for nearly 25 years—long before it was a “thing”—I’ve had the opportunity to try many things, fail at a few of them, learn from others, and build upon the immense efforts of early-explorers in the field.  My philosophy is that sustainable businesses are profitable, first and foremost.  Finance has garnered a bad reputation through the years, and I think the time has come to use financial instruments as tools for good. We need to leave the world better than it was when we got here.

This blog is a reflection of several decades of “Notes In the Margin” about various topics:  something I want to explore more, an idea I find innovative or inflammatory, or simply an ear worm that I can’t stop pondering.  This is a place where I can acknowledge, amplify, highlight and discuss different aspects of the field, and the work of others.
